JD Gyms | Xercise4Less Upgrades

Whilst the gyms have been closed, we’ve been busy.

Over the last 6 months, we have worked on over 20 JD Gym transformations from the Xercise4Less Gyms estate across the UK. All turned around in record time to ensure they are ready for the 12th April reopening.

These transformations involved a complete refit and reconfiguration to showcase what we have all come to expect from a gym.

An iconic feature of the JD Gyms is the set of suspended arrows above the free weights area, manufactured using our TRON system.

A creative use of colour is also a key design feature of the gyms, a way to identify each section of the gym. Green being the weights area, we used our track-mounted Casa GA16 with a green filter to create an energising atmosphere.

The possibilities are endless with our TRON system, in the spin studios we transform the Tron with blue LED for a

Zero Latency VR | Wembley, London

Based in Wembley’s Boxpark, we worked with Zero Latency on their second opening in the UK.

John Lilley, CEO of MeetspaceVR said, “We’re thrilled to bring the world’s most advanced social gaming experience, Zero Latency, to London.

“Free roam VR is the future of group social entertainment attractions – we believe gaming is better when played together. The adrenaline-pumping experience caters to a wide audience from avid-gamers to first-time visitors.

“Wembley plays host to the world’s biggest sporting tournaments and so it feels like the perfect place to launch the future of mass competitive Player-to-Player eSport gaming.

“We are looking forward to opening our doors in the UK’s capital in October and unleashing a horde of virtual zombies on visitors.”

To reflect the fun, contemporary environment, and also their branding, we designed and manufactured quirky asymmetric shaped lighting using our bespoke led linear. The result added visual interest and an element of fun, creating focal points throughout the space. Bespoke lighting helps reinforce your branding, and these do just that!

Northampton International Academy

Northampton International Academy is a brand new school, based in Northampton that provides quality education for the local area.

A different project for us, being an educational environment and ensuring the lighting design met the requirements whilst also being attractive and modern. Far from the traditional fluorescent tubes and panels traditionally found in schools, we used a whopping total of 335 metres of our led linear luminaires. The most we’ve ever made for a single project, and all manufactured in-house! Our design team were in the workshop helping manufacture the luminaires to ensure that they were ready on time.

Our led linear provides visual interest to the classrooms, offices and gym area, a change from the norm. Statement luminaires help a brand stand out from the rest, and as a brand new school, linear lines certainly do this for Northampton International Academy.
